I installed it on my Windows XP and had no issues whatsoever. I found this item very useful when it comes to file exchanges and wireless device usage.
and the signal starts breaking up. I said everything works great, but the distance stated on the specifications is not even close for me. The software I downloaded from Linksys would not load the drivers either. I know there are many varibles and I know for fact the microwave does make it break up. I finally loaded the Broadcom software and it now works great.[.]. First, the disc shipped with the USBBT100 would not load.
The problem for me was finding software that would work. I go into my kitchen which is only about 20 ft. The drivers on the disc would not load on a Windows 7 32 bit system. Site address above if any one needs it. I am going to try raising the USBBT100 with some USB extension cables. Microsoft does state that this device is comaptibile with Windows 7 32 bit.
I tried both versions.
Driver is not compatible. This Item will NOT work with Windows Vista.
Been using the Linksys Bluetooth Adapter for the past 6 months without any issues. Start the device and within 15 seconds can be connected to my cell phone to sync my calendar, etc. or my PDA. The Linksys USB Bluetooth Adapter works as advertized. In my view worth the couple of extra bucks for Linksys product. Connected to both of my Bluetooth cell phones 1, 2 ,3. Install the driver, plug it into your USB port and you are good to go. As I leave the unit plugged in to a USB port in the back of my desktop, I stop the device when I do not want to be connected to either my Nokia Cell Phones or my HP iPAQ H2795 PDA.
No problem installing this in Windows XT.It has about 3 times the range of the little dongle type adapters.
